What are the reasons ibuprofen cannot be used during pregnancy?

"After one month of trying I became pregnant and had a beautiful healthy boy!"

"After over 7 years of trying to conceive and thousands of dollars spent on infertility treatments, I had actually succeeded to get pregnant the natural way without any drugs or medical intervention "

Hello, I am 24 weeks pregnant and starting to get some minor back aches. I feel like I have someone standing on my back. Tylenol does nothing for me, it gives me maybe a few hours of relief. Ibuprofen works best for any aches and pains I have when not pregnant. I will not take any ibuprofen at this time no matter what answers I get, I just want to know why it isn’t supposed to be taken during pregnancy?

Ibuprofen is 100% safe in the 2nd trimester ONLY!!
During the 1st trimester some congenital anomalies (anencephaly, cerebral palsy, microphthalmia, nasal cleft, and tooth staining) have been reported -
During the 3rd trimester causes constriction of ductus arteriosus with subsequent pulmonary hypertension and oligohydramnios by affecting fetal renal function.
The MAIN reason the OB’s say Tylenol only is because we get pregnancy brain – they don’t want you to forget that you’re not suppose to take it during the 3rd so we say NO to the IB’s period
I took IB’s all throughout my entire pregnancies – it was the ONLY thing that reduced the swelling of my hemorrhoids and my babies turned out just fine – I didn’t take it every day all day but I did use it pretty frequently

Because it can thin your blood out which is dangerous during pregnancy. People who are getting pre-oped for surgery cannot take ibuprofen or aspirin since they both do the blood thinning to the body. I’m a RN.
Ibuprofen is a medicine related to indomethacin. Indomethacin can cause a major heart blood vessel in the baby to close, reversing the blood flow to the baby. I was given indomethacin while pregnant to stop labor but it was given to me while I was at the hospital under close doctor supervision and it was given to me for no more than 3 days, and not pass 32 weeks.
Technically, it is okay for a pregnant woman to take ibuprofen once or twice but because it is closely related to indomethacin and it is over the counter, to be safe doctors advise their pregnant patients not to take ibuprofen while pregnant especially in the last trimester.
I already answered this earlier.
You have four more weeks in which you can take it.
Now you are pregnant you will react to drugs differently, so don’t be surprised if your miracle drug doesn’t do so well.
