My cat, Kitty, has been pregnant for weeks, and she looks like she’s about ready to pop. I’ve been waiting on her to give birth for days.
So, my initial question is, what are some signs I can look for that let me know she will be giving birth shortly?

A cats pregnancy lasts 9 weeks in total as your aware, now the signs of birth are as follows,
1).Nest building, she will go to dark areas to seek a private nesting area(cats are fussy),so try setting up a nest for her now save last minute panic later.
2).she will sleep the day or so before the birth, cats do this to save energy ready for birthing its natures way.
3).She will become extra affectionate towards you, this is hormones cats always seem that bit extra nice a day or two before.
4).Her first milk will come in this is known as colostrum,a cat produces this around 2-4 days before birth so keep an eye out for that,it looks like dried powder on the nipples so is easy to spot.
5).She will become a little vocal this will be because her mild contractions will have started, they call out and meow, she will also pant as they get stronger.
6).Her mucus plug will come away this looks like a gooey mess,it is soon followed by her waters breaking, waters should be clear with blood in it,if any green seek a vest help.
7).Some cats get a touch of diarrhoea a day before this is the contractins placing pressure on the bowels, the same goes for the bladder some cats will have an odd accident where they pee in odd places,as they cant get to the litter on time.

She will start looking for a quiet comfortable place. Like a closet, in a hamper of clothes or under your bed. If she keeps disappearing then follow her. You could even put an old blanket in the bottom of your closet and keep the door cracked and maybe she will go in there. Always check her private area. It will be swollen and maybe have alittle liquid coming out.
Her stomach will be extremely hard and she will be very restless, sleeping in the strangest spots. When she’s very close to delivering, you will see stuff starting to come out. Give her a nice, quite, soft spot and relax! Cats give birth easily.
