What does a pregnant belly feel like when you touch it?

My wife and I just found out that we are expecting twins in 8 months. What does a pregnant belly feel like when you touch it? I know its a stupid question, just wondering and very excited? Our obstetrician also informs me that my wife needs to gain 45-55 lbs.

it’s actually feels kinda cool! especially when the baby moves!

well as it starts to grow it will feel very hard and around 5 months you may feel movements not always though

Mine was really hard the whole time- probably because I didn’t gain any body fat and only gained baby. Depending on if your wife gains a healthy amount of weight it’ll probably be hard too. But if she gains an excess … than probably feel like a fat squishy belly! Good luck and Congrats!

Her baby probably wont feel much different for a little while. It might look and feel a little bloated but that’s about it. When she gets further along it will start to firm up. When she gets to the point I am at now (39 weeks tomorrow) it will probably be hard as a rock… Congrats!

not sure about when your expecting twins, but when i was pregnant with my son (and i am also pregnant now 6 months) it depended on how baby was lying sometimes it would be soft other times when baby comes to the surface as it were it will go very hard!! the funniest thing is lying there and seeing your whole tummy move as the baby turns and kicks!! wonderful experience especially for husbands as i think it will help you bond with baby as well, sometimes my baby kicks in response to my husband talking!
tell your wife not to be not too surprised if a dark line appears from her belly button downwards, also in my pregnancy my belly has got a little hairy! but have read this is common and will go afterwards. all the best
