My cat is pregnant and should be due first week of august or a little bit before. I came home today and noticed that she bled from her private part about a tea spoon. What does that mean? Is it normal?

well typically cats have babies right when they are due.. there is a few day window, but they are pretty much on the mark.. so it could be she is father along then you think and is getting redy to have the kittens.. but, in my experience it can also be a miscarriage. Watch her closely and try to keep feeling the kittens inside to make sure they are moving.. if nothing happens and the bleeding stops it may just of been a fluke thing, i had a cat once who bled without labor or a miscarriage;however, if she bleeds anymore, and nothing happens contact your vet asap.. good luck

Confine her to a small, quiet space with just her food, litterbox and bed NOW. Put her somewhere that she cannot jump. A bathroom is a good place, its easy to clean, however you don’t want her jumping off of the counter if you can avoid it. A pet tent is ideal and what I use to confine moms-to-be. She may be ready to deliver sooner than you think — a BIT of spotting can be a sign — or she may be miscarrying or have an infection. If she bleeds much more and there are no kittens, if she develops a fever, if you feel no movement, or if the discharge has mucus or a rotten odor, take her to the vet. Don’t be surprised if there is a kitten that is stillborn. Sometimes a girl will loose one and bleed a bit and the rest will be fine. Watch her closely. Good luck!

hi, i have had cats all my life, so in this case she might be ready to give birth, you said she might give birth in August or maybe before august, so now is the time, is late July, you should prepare towels(that you don’t use), and just wait for her to give birth, if she has her own bed try putting the towel on her bed, or where you think she spends most of her time at. The only thing left for you to do is wait ^_^, hope everything goes well!!! >..<

PS: I forgot to tell you that if one of the kittens is still wrapped in a mucus fiber you should brake it with your hands, sometimes is kind of hard for the little kittens to brake them, but then maybe her mom already broke it for him/her…and one other thing you have to let the mom eat her placenta, it’s good for her, so don’t throw it away, just let her eat it.
