My dog is about a month pregnant but i don’t want her to have puppies, can they do an abortion?

O had my dog spayed while about 1 month pregnant.. she did just great…It is easier on them than having pups…
that was about 1976…surgeries are even much safer now.
Yes, they can. It will cost more, but it can be done.
yes. They willl terminate and spay in one surgery.
no they cannot do an abortion, well your vet shouldn’t do an abortion, there are some out just for the money. There is a morning after pill for dogs but it has to be given within the first two days of being caught, and your dog is past that. I can understand you not wanting puppies, but you only have about a month to go until puppies arrive. Then you have to keep the puppies with mom for at least 8 weeks before they can be sold , given away or taken to a shelter. Good luck, and as soon as puppies are old enough to leave mom, you can have her spayed so you wont have to go through this again.
Give the puppies away.
Your vet may refuse to do it until after delivery.
yes, they can abort the puppies.. depending on how far along with the pregnancy your dog is. Otherwise the risk may too great.
It will cost you $$ per pup, plus the spaying.
Sorry your dog has to lose her pups.. but I understand.
Good luck to you and her!
I’ve never heard of abortions be performed on dogs.. but you should think about what got her into this mess. If I were you I’d start finding people to take some pups now. I’m sure there are plenty of people who would like a puppy!
I hope this mess wasn’t your fault >=o Don’t make the dog suffer for your mistakes!
They actually can, as weird as it sounds. I don’t know if a month is too far along though. I just remember the secretary at a vet’s office telling me one time that people actually bring their pets in for abortions. I suggest you start taking care of your dog, if you don’t want to fix her, don’t let her outside.
I think the dog is supposed to have surgery!!!! which is sad!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When you spay a pregnant dog it is like an abortion. After its done they are not pregnant any more, and they will never ever get pregnant again. Good luck
your dog will turn out fine. it is a whole lot easier on them.
you don’t do that to dogs i don’t think your mother wanted to do that while she was pregnat
You will lose the puppies. You should just let her have pups and then get her spayed. You can then find loving homes for them.
Yes …but they only stay pregnant for 60- 75 days ..so maybe you can let her have them and then give them to the humane society for adoption. (She’s halfway there )
YES!!! SPAY NOW!!!
WITHOUT DELAY!!! HURRY!!! HURRY!!!!
***HURRY****!!!!
I am a veterinary assistant and my boss has always spayed females upto full term pregnancy. I know this may sound cruel but think about puppies having to be euthanized because there are no homes for them. Two dogs can produce hundreds of dogs in a year if all offspring are left unspayed/neutered! In the 4 years I have been involved with veterinary work I have never witnessed a complication to the mother from a full-term spay.
i went through the same thing last year with my daughters dog…i thought she may be pregnant and i had an appt. to have her spayed and the vet said if there were puppies in there, that they would remove them….turned out my dog wasn’t pregnant…my adivce to you would be either let the dog have the puppies and then have her spayed OR talk to your vet about spaying her now and removing the puppies….not a good thought, but sometimes i suppose circumstances won’t allow for puppies…but it seems to me that is your only options….
