My friend thinks she may have been pregnant for a month and didnt know it so, shes been taking thepill. Will that do damage? Pls answer only if you know.

If god wanted you on birth control, he would have given doctors the brains to design it and market it in a safe manner. I think your friend should have this baby and not abort it. It’s not a mission or something else that is alright to abort. The hormones in BC pills may (MAY) damage the fetus. Your friend needs to see her doctor immediately.

I’ve heard that there is nothing proven about harmful effects, but the sooner you stop taking it the better. That must happen to a lot of people. Best thing is to ask a doctor of course.

However, I should note that it is also possible that it has had no effect on the unborn baby. Studies show that there is no consistancy in the effects of taking birth control pills during the first trimester of pregnancy. Always, the safest thing to do in this situation is to go to the doctor.

that happen to my sister. The Dr says there is no harm in the first month but that you should get off them as soon as you find out. Either way she should let her Dr. know so they can give her a check up.

I was pregnant for 3 months and didn’t know it. I did not have my period for over a year. I took the pill the whole time and when my doc told me I was I freaked and she said just stop taking them, don’t worry, everything is fine. I had my baby, he is beautiful and healthy. Nothing wrong. I did worry though until he was born because I could find no info at all on the subject. So just tell her not to fret and congrats are in order even though I’m sure she didn’t plan for it.
Yes it can do damage as well as it might not do anything it depends on the person I took it a couple of times before I found out I was pregnant my baby is fine so far but not born yet so we will see. My friend was told by her doctor she wasnt pregnant and she stayed on birht control her baby is fine and is 6 1/2 years old now. Just have her stop taking it now and go see the doctor to be sure. Wouldnt want to take any chances with hurting the baby. Good luck!
It can cause birth defects. If she stopped taken them after finding out that she was pregnaunt, odds are that she did not take enough to do any major damage. But it has been linked to damaging such things as brain development.
My cousin took b/c while she was prego, I think she took it for a month or more before she found out. She started bleeding late that night and she lost it. But she has miscarried every time that she has been prego. But tell your friend she needs to see a Dr. right away.

I was on the pill and taking antibiotics when I got pregnant the first time. My son was fine. If she thinks she may be pregnant she should stop immediately and get a test. Continued use of the pill may be harmful if she is pregnant.
honestly Im not sure what it does but when I found out I was pregnant I was a month along and I stopped the day I found out and I asked people but they said it was okay as long as I didnt take it that long. I hyad my baby no birth defects or ANYTHING hes pefect tell her shes fine but dont take it anymore
ok i know this one. i got pregnant while on birth control tell her to stop the pills and see her doctor at once. i lost my baby but that was 8 years ago. it can cause brain damage or death and a host of health problems
I am taking birth control also. On my birth control pack it tells you if you are prgnant or become pregnant while taking the pill it will not harm the baby. Her baby will be fine. The pill just adds hormones to your body, the baby will not be harmed. But she probably should get tested and stop taking them just in case. I hope this helps. But if she still hasthe package the pill came in, it will tell her all about it.

the way the pill work is it convinces your body you are already pregnant so that it does not release the egg…then once you start the week of sugar pills or go off it for a week your body no longer thinks you are pregnant. so, it begins to shed the lining on your uterus that was forming to help the egg develop into a fetus (your period). So if you are actually pregnant you should stop taking the pill right away so that lining continues to form and does not shed….tell your friend to go to the doctor for a test before she stops the pill to ensure she is actually pregnant.

A lady from church took the pill for a month and her baby was fine…he is now 16 years old and fine.
I think she’ll be fine. I know several people that go pregnant while on birth control and their baby’s came out just fine. Tell her to take her vitamins, get the reccommended dose of folic acid, eat good, and both of them will be ok.
Recommend she see her ob/gyn as soon as possible, right after she quits taking the stupid things.
Actually, I have a friend who took BC’s for the first four months of her pregnancy, and elected to have the baby anyway. He was quite normal, and very intelligent, but stands to reason this isn’t always the case. Some health effects are possible in this instance for both herself and her baby, but panic should not lead her to do anything rash. While lots of the possibilities depend on what kind of BC she’s taking, babies really are amazingly resislient, and the risk of birth defects is often overemphasized.
The odds really are in her favor.
Above all, she should not worry about it.
