My husband and I were TTC for a year and a half…I lost 40 pounds in 4 months (with Weight Watchers, and lots of working out) and I got pregnant right after. I think losing weight helped (well, that and the Clomid I took) But I’d say start losing weight now, and just stop when you get pregnant. You can TTC and diet at the same time as long as you are dieting the right way (diet and working out, not starving or pills) Good luck.

well im 5’8 as well. and for our height we should normally weigh about 150 or so. when ur prego or trying to get prego. to much exercising would be very bad. so if u want to get down a few pounds before then go ahead. or just work on that baby now. worry about weight after the baby is here lol

I don’t think there really is a certain weight that’s best. Of course skinnier might be better, but if you’re healthy at the weight you’re at right now (no problems with insulin, blood pressure, etc), then there shouldn’t be really any problem.
Plenty of overweight women get pregnant and have no complications.
My sister in law was 200+ both her pregnancies and never had problems with either.
It’s when weight starts affecting your health is when the extra pounds might be a problem. Like insulin resistance, or blood pressure issues, and things of that nature.
If you feel that you need to lose some weight though, then by all means go for it and good luck :)

I can tell you from experience… I was bigger than you when I got pregnant. I began eating better the moment I was pregnant and lost 20 pounds during my pregnancy.

My doctor was elated by this.

I did have blood pressure issues but I went into the pregnancy with this.

I did IVF to get pregnant and my fertility doctor was okay with my weight. Not overjoyed but okay.
