My husband and I want to start "trying" in February. What should I be doing to prepare my body mentally and physically for pregnancy?

Congrats and GREAT for you to start preparing your body AHEAD of time!!
Start making sure you are getting plenty from all food groups, take a prenatal with plenty of folic acid! After you get pregnant spend a little more and add a DHA supplement. If you don’t like/ can’t drink milk, be sure to add a calcium supplement as well, drink PLENTY of water! TRY to cut out or cut back all caffeine and sodas. Start tracking your cycles. If you aren’t wanting to take your temp (I don’t, personally, there is no way I could take it at the same time every day before I wake up!), a good site to use is http://www.mymonthlycycles.com you can input your cycles and it will tell you when you are at your most fertile. If you don’t have a regular cycle, then I would recommend using an OPK starting your first month, they cost a bit, but take the guess work out of knowing when you ovulate. If you feel comfortable doing so, you can monitor your cervix for ovulation. You can look that up on google, there are plenty of great sites that will instruct you on how to safely do so.
That’s the physical stuff, as far as mentally, just relax and have fun! Know that it probably will not happen on the first try! Just enjoy this time with your hubby! Good luck to you! I wish you a happy and very healthy nine months!!
Well it would be better if you both did it together..I would start eating healthy, exercising, and you can even start taking prenatal vitamins.
And don’t get stressed or bummed out if it don’t happen the first time around..It might take a little longer..Sending lots of Baby Dust your way!!
Good luck!!
Soon here start taking a pre-natal. eat healthy, excercise. learn how to track your ovulation. and keep track of periods and CM and just try not to stress. if all goes well, february will be YOUR month!
The advice I can offer when TTC is to not forget why you and your husband want a baby and don’t let a let having a baby become the sole reason for "trying". Remember the love you share. Sometimes it’s harder than you think to not become consumed. I also agree that eating well, light exercise, and vitamins should be on your list as well. I wish you the best and may your journey to motherhood be a swift and easy one.
Mentally: try not to obsess over it. This is hard, i spend many hours googling about getting pregnant and spending lots of money on HPTs. this is not healthy i have come to realise.
Thinking positive and being happy can work wonders too.
Physically: Drinking my 8 glasses of water a day, trying to improve my diet and taking the stairs instead of the lift (even the little things can make a difference)
