How early can a blood test detect pregnancy?
I took one today and it said negative. But I am not suppose to start to next week. I spotted yesterday and then it stopped. And I have not been feeling well this whole week. Is it too early?
a blood test can detect the hcg hormone from 4 days before your period is due but this is not always the case with every woman some hpt can also be used from 5 days before period such as some clear blues and first responce hope this helps
It took me 3 weeks to get a positive pregnancy test.
But I never had a blood test to confirm the pregnancy.
They confirmed my pregnancy by internal ultrasound.

some people dont get a positive til 2 weeks after a missed period wait a little longer then test:)
Five days before I missed my period with the first baby I got a very very faint positive. I must have just started implanting with that one. A blood test can tell you 1-2 days earlier than the urine test. With my 2nd it wasn’t positive until 2 days before my period was due.
With this last pregnancy I tested positive, very faintly, 4 days before my period was due. That was with a cheapie Walmart brand urine test.
Add:: if your not due for your period until next week, then yes it’s too early to be testing. either wait until your actually late, or try testing again closer to when your supposed to start (about 2 days before)
