cough drops, that spray stuff…is it cepracol? If it’s really bad, please call your doc in the morning…you may have strep. tylenol is okay too.

  5. beth says:

I used to gargle with Listerine. It kills the bacteria and numbs it enough to take the discomfort away..

  6. tharnpfeffa says:

Honey and lemon in warm water.
    A salt water gargle.

  7. nwjerseygirl says:

Gargle with salt water until you can speak with your doctor. It should relieve some of the soreness. You can take throat losenges to coat your throat or drink some hot tea with lemon and honey.

  8. amazingly intelligent says:

Gargle with some warm (as warm as you can stand it) salt water. Do Not swallow any.
Don’t take any medication without your doctor’s consent. You also might try sipping some hot peppermint or lemon tea.

  9. Aliz-USA says:

Take a cough drop to sooth the throat and a Tylenol to ease the pain.

Gargle with warm salt water, apply vick’s vapor rub on chest or upper lip – if you have it. Suck on hard candy or vitamin c drop. I think a Tylenol might be okay, that’s up to you. Sorry, I can’t remember too much about OTC’s – it’s been a while…
Best regards & hope you feel better & can get some rest. The salt water really does help if you give it a chance.

Until you speak to your Dr. just have some decaf tea w/ honey and try sucking on lemon drops candies… I wouldn’t take anything that your Dr. doesn’t know about… regardless of what the "lists" say that is ok to take… the lists are general and you are an individual. Ask your Dr. afterall, it’s his/her job to care for you… and not just throughout your pregnancy. Feel better.

you should not take some medicines when your pregnant. it may affect to your baby. try some other alternatives like gargling of warm water and salt. it really helps a lot.

i don’t know about right NOW, but I’d go to 1800homeopathy.com and do a search for what remedies to use for a sore throat. it’s good to have a basic kit on hand – they are expensive but well worth it. I use mine all the time.

at the first sign of a cold take Aconite. For anything that burns (sore throat) try apis and cantharis. it comes with a booklet.

i think they are safe during pregnancy but check to be sure.

please do not take drugs -tylenol,etc-til you ask the doctor again. Also you can phone hospital -maternity ward and ask them what is safe to take or find an all night drugstore to call.Pharmicists often know more than the docs about drug reactions.Meantime hot sweet tea.No honey in it-can make baby sick.good luck.

This is gonna depend on how far along you are. For now, I would just suggest cough drops, soup, tea. Not much else. If you are past your first trimester, you may be given permission to take Robitussin. It’s a category C, but I was given permission to take it for a really bad cough associated with a sore throat. Also, try a dehumidifier while your sleeping, go in the bathroom and take a steamy shower, put your face over a bowl of boiling water and place a towel over your head. These are all things that I did in my first trimester. Good luck, but you’ll probably have to use the home remedy approach.
