MOre than likely, you will not get pregnant the day before your missed period. In fact, the rhythm method of family planning, uses the weeks before and after you period to safely have sex and not get pregnant. I wouldn’t worry about it.

It’s typically 2 weeks after intercourse. Normally, ovulation occurs 2 weeks before your period starts, hence the testing after your period is due. However, if you had sex that close to your period, you will have to wait 2 weeks from date of intercourse to test. My guess is you probably aren’t because most women are not fertile at that time.

If you did conceive on that day, it will be around 16 to 18 days before there is enough HCG in your system to show up a positive pregnancy test.

However, it would be unlikely that you were pregnant, as you are usually fertile in the middle of your cycle e.g. 12 – 14 days after your period finishes, and 14 days before your period starts. You can only get pregnant for 24 hours out of each month, so you actually have to be pretty lucky to get pregnant, as the egg lasts less than a day.

Many women use this technique to help them chart to actually get pregnant, http://www.babyboat.com.au/chartingforpregnancy.html so I think with your timing you will probably be OK, but if you want to be sure, wait until 16 days afterwards

And I know it is hard, but don’t stress as this can delay your period.
