I’m having a mild, but annoying pain in my lower right pelvic region. It doesn’t hurt terribly, but I just noticed it a good bit today and I’m in early pregnancy. Is this round ligament pain? Thank you!
I’m not doubled over in pain so I doubt it’s appendicitis :) But it feels more like a pulled muscle and it’s more in my pelvis than my abdomen.

in the initial weeks of pregnancy i was getting stretching pains as my uterous became enlarged to accomodate the baby it was just above pelvis mostly on the left but sometimes on the right didnt hurt at all but at wk 16 it progressively moved upwards towards hip bone and this was a sign that the uterous was coming out of the pelvis.

at 19 weeks i got a horrendous sharp stabbing pain on my left side and this was what the doctor referred to as round ligament pain which is caused by increased stretching and sudden movements – it feels like i pulled a muscle and lasted about 2 mins

following this at 22 weeks i got another pain but it was more like a pulsating pain around my lower stomach and lower back and it came and went like a pulse it lasted about 5 mins and this i was told was braxton hicks

good luck if you do get pains they are normal but if you are worried or show spotting with it get it checked immediately

    congrats and good luck

I think it’s by the hip bones, (that’s where I get mine) sometimes when I get up too quick or lift my legs too high I get a sharp stabbing pain… starts at different time’s for everyone, depending on how big baby is I think

At Your Cervix has a nice little blog entry about it (link below), what it is, where it is, what to do about it.

I got that super early around 5-6 weeks and was scared as it woke me in the middle of the night. It went away within a few days and never really returned. My hips and stomach have definitely spread now but it’s never been painful since early on. I am now 14 weeks and while I am not hugely showing…I have gained 8-10 pounds and can feel my uterus above my pelvic bone. As I said, I no longer fit into my size 4′s :( so obviously, I’ve grown.

I wouldn’t worry– it will go away and then you may notice you start to pack on some pounds

Round ligament pain happens when everything starts pulling as you get bigger. You wouldn’t feel it in early stages of pregnancy. I would ask my Dr to be safe. If the pain gets more intense, it could be your appendix that’s exactly where it’s located. Then you would have to run to emergency bty.
