    I see your point. Would we have considered ourselves as a developing country when we were at the standards of what we consider developing countries today? No. Would someone who is living in that country consider themselves that way? No. We like to categorize because it makes things easier for us. We still consider them developing because they have not met the level that we have attained. They probably wont because we will continue to be ahead of them, as they progress, we progress. I think the term "lesser-developed" is more appropriate. It distinguishes the two sides, yet makes it still seem positive.

    Becuase as long as their infrastructure is not up to par with ours, they are still considered developing.

    The term "developed" is an economic judgment, not a cultural judgment.

    because they are not developed. ie they dont have much infrastructure manufacturing technology etc.
