Would there be this much debate on abortion if men were the ones to get pregnant?

"After one month of trying I became pregnant and had a beautiful healthy boy!"

"After over 7 years of trying to conceive and thousands of dollars spent on infertility treatments, I had actually succeeded to get pregnant the natural way without any drugs or medical intervention "

" I just wanted to say thank you for writing this program and for giving hope to women at my age. I am 46 and I am finally going to be a mother."

Does anyone else think that if men were to have the abiity to get pregnant, and would have to deal with the majority of the responsibility of childbirth and child-rearing, would there be this debate on abortion? Personally, I think there would be no debate at all.
Although anti-abortion leaders are women, men use this as a platform all the time to attempt to gain political office. Also, I mean let’s be honest here…..men still hold the majority of power in society….women are definitely coming up but men still hold the power.

I don’t think there would be either. It angers me to think that a man in a government position thinks he has the right and the nerve to tell me what to do with my reproductive organs. That’s just like birth control…why is it the womyn’s responsibility to make sure she’s "protected"? Nonsense. Since men have no physical attachment to these fetuses, they can run around and tell us not to abort them and for us to use birth control solely. How far have us females come really if this is the way it is?
And for all these anti-abortion comments, you all must be living in a fantasy land. A 15-year-old crackhead is not going to abstain from sex, and "holding a baby" isn’t necessarily going to turn her life around. She’ll spend years in the system…whether her baby is dumped on a front porch raised in a foster home or living on welfare. Leave the suburbs and visit the ghetto where all these young females are having babies and THEN see how you feel about abortion!
somebody is pmsing
abortion is an issue solely bc people have different opinions on when a life is a life. the issue would be the same no matter who is doing the birthing.
There shouldn’t be a debate at all!
Abortion is wrong! PERIOD!
no…(anti) abortion is 100 percent about controlling women
I personally would hope that there is enough love left in my heart that I would at least give my child a chance at life. When I was growing up,a mother or a dad would gladly have given their life for their child.Be it born or unborn.People today are too selfish for their own offspring.Rape ect.is not an issue either. If I thought it would be too much of an emotional strain,I would adopt it out.I wouldn`t kill it becuase of what someone else had done.
lol…the 1st answer is funny!!
Personally, I would think it would be the same, Abortion is murder!
There would be,even if men got pregnant, because some people would still think it’s wrong to murder another human being for personal convenience.
Too bad more people don’t feel that way.I guess we will just have to continue the biggest genocide in human history.49 million dead, and counting.
AD
the anti abortion leaders are female….lol nice try though.
uuh….ew.
Stupid, hypothetical, rhetoric. If you were responsible in the first place you wouldn’t get yourself in the position to need an abortion and if you were responsible you would take responsibilty for the life that you would otherwise just kill because it’s not convenient for you.
It’s just good sense. If abortion is easy to get people will be more irresponsible when it comes to sex. If you know that you are going to be responsible for a life and you don’t want to be, you might think twice about having sex with someone you can’t trust. Be responsible before you get in that situation and you won’t have to make the decision to take the life of an innocent baby who wasn’t to blame for your actions.
babies, born and unborn are a gift from God!
For years I had a poster on my wall saying "If men could get pregnant, abortion would be a sacrament."
So, since men have all the power and would do everything to assert their rights if they became pregnant, how come they don’t exert that power NOW to create any rights for themselves to prevent being saddled with child support, to make a woman get an abortion or to make her keep the baby. Funny thing these “MEN OF POWER” have done nothing for men in the past 50 years in terms of abortion , reproductive destiny etc etc etc.
Who are all these men of power of which you speak that would create these extra/special rights for men and why haven’t they done it.
